Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
Product lead times
As all of our jewellery is handmade to order, production lead time is 4-6 weeks from when you receive your order confirmation. Timeframes are subject to change or delay during peak periods, so please contact us if you need your piece by a specific date.
General Wear
To preserve the lustre of your jewellery, avoid wearing your jewellery when cleaning, bathing, showering, swimming and particularly when going to the beach. Try to avoid chemicals, lotions or perfumes that get in direct contact with the jewellery as harsh detergents can damage the gold and create build up underneath the stone/s, causing a cloudy appearance. Avoiding this will protect your pieces and ensure generations of wear.
Sizing
The best way to find your ring size is to have this professionally measured, so we strongly recommend you visit your local jeweller to obtain your correct measurements. Ring sizers are available online, though these are not the most accurate way to ascertain your size, so please bear this in mind before placing your order.
Repairs and Resizing
We offer repairs on all Union Studios pieces and depending on the design, resizing is available within a certain range. Please email our studio at contact@madebyunionstudios.com and quote your original order number. Our studio will assist with your request and advise of the next steps. Resizing and general repairs take around 1-2 weeks.
Cleaning
If your jewellery has been worn frequently, it may need a little clean. The best way to do this is with a toothbrush and warm soapy water. Pour some warm water into a container with some dishwashing liquid and allow the piece to soak for 5 minutes, then rub the piece with soft pressure to free any dirt build up. Alternatively, send your piece into us for a full service and polish at our studio.
Storing
Keeping your jewellery in one safe place is essential so that you do not misplace your special pieces. When your jewellery is not worn, keep the piece stored in the Union Studios box or jewellery pouch, which you have received with your purchase.
Insurance
We strongly recommend insurance for your piece as your warranty will not cover you for accidental damage that can occur in everyday life. We work closely with Q-Report jewellery insurance to cover repairs incase of accidental damage and replacement jewellery insurance for loss or theft. Please reach out to us for a quote for extra peace of mind.
